A cable guide: USB-C, Lightning or micro-USB?
Connector type, charging or data, length and durability — everything you need to pick the right cable.

The connector at the device end decides the cable. Most new Android phones, many tablets and laptops use USB-C; older iPhones use Lightning, and some older devices still have micro-USB.
Not every cable is built for fast data transfer. If you need a cable for backups or moving files, check that its specifications include data support.
Choose length and durability for where you'll use it: short cables suit power banks and cars, longer ones the bedside or the sofa. Braided jackets and strain relief help cables that get bent a lot.
For stores: keep the most common connectors and lengths near the checkout — a cable is often bought together with a charger.
